| Darling I woke
today and reached across the bed to touch you and there was only
emptiness where I wished you to be. I rolled onto my back and
closed my eyes and drew you to me in my mind. You came into my
life when I thought there was nothing left to live for. You made a
smile shine through a river of tears that flowed from my eyes. I
was drowning in my pain and about to be crushed from the weight of
burdens .........
Then there you were................. I remember the first time we spoke, we talked for hours and hours. Somehow we both knew something special was happening to us. Not looking for each other but like two ships passing in the night we were just there at the same time. Neither of us planning for anything permanent but once we started to speak an ocean of emotions began to well up in me. I found it hard to swallow and yet I did not want to stop talking with you. As we parted I was not sure we would find each other again, I could only hope ...... Then there you were.................. There was a smile that lit my face as I saw you again. I know I blushed with excitement as we immediately took up our conversation like old close friends. No longer strangers we seemed to have a long history together. I think back and remember again how you knew what my thoughts were and felt what was in my heart before I said the words. So elated to be with you again. I remember then a couple weeks went by and I heard nothing from you and began to question my feelings. Thinking I had made too much of our conversations and............ Then there you were................. Soon there was no doubt for either of us that we shared a love for each other. Your voice I will always hear and the sound of your laughter. We made love as ardently as the most passionate lovers in history. I knew every part of your body as you knew mine. We knew most of all how completely we belonged together like pieces of a puzzle the fit was perfect and the picture was complete. Then there were the times of separation, waiting, watching........... Then there you were.................. I have grown to depend on your eager smile that warms my heart, and the gentle touch of your caress. You are always caring and protective, ever mindful of my feelings. The emptiness of your last departure replaced by the immediate joy of being with you again. When there were sorrows that ripped through my life you listened and offered up your support and advice. When I faced the possibility of death, weakened and gravely ill I would look up and................... Then there you were.................. Always amazed at how small a part of our life consists of meaningful moments. Most of these moments over before they start. A light is cast out into the future made by the person that originated them. My darling this is how I see you as a light that has shone in my life. Always when I wanted you or needed you........... Then there you were.............. As the sun rises for you I surrender to the night. I am always within your heart, always with you even when you can not see me. My love goes with you every moment of the day. You have but to look............ Then I am there................
