LEADERSHIP

Dear Princess:

There are leaders and there are followers.  To be a leader is to take on extra responsibility.  This involves taking control and using your power and influence to make things happen.

A good leader will not abuse their power but use it so that it benefits everyone that they are leading.

Some people avoid being a leader and feel that it is too large of a burden for them to stand out as a head of a group.

Others always feel they must be the leader and will feel slighted to take a secondary position.

There is a comfort zone that most people have that allows them to be leaders at times and then sometimes followers.

A leader should show intelligence, compassion, and respect for they are setting the example for all that follow them.

A leader should also listen and be willing to consider the ideas of others.  To lead does not mean that everything must be done the way the leader wants it but to do what is best for the group as a whole.

Love always,

Grandma
