Sleep Of Innocence
Close your eyes
Little One, it is time to rest. Each day you will discover and do more as you grow
but today the learning has come to an end. I can tell you about life Little One, but I can not live it for you. I can give you directions but I can not take you there. I can teach you right from wrong but I can not decide for you. I can offer advice but I can not accept it for you. I can give you love but I can not compel you to accept it. I can teach you about sharing but I can not make you unselfish. I can teach you respect but I can not make you show consideration. I can give you advice about your friends but I can not choose them for you. I can talk to you about sex but can not decide when it is right for you. I can warn about drugs but I can not prevent you from using them. I can tell you about setting goals but I can not achieve them for you. I can teach you about kindness but I can not make you a humanitarian. All I can hope Little One is that my words will help guide you whether you choose to follow them is your decision. They are words of wisdom passed down from generation to generation that I felt a responsiblity to share with you as others have before me. Close your eyes Little One, let your guardians watch over you as you rest. Vigilantly protected as you slumber. Sleep in innocence knowing your Grandma loves you.
